YOU NEED A BOOK?

OR YOU'VE GOT A BOOK?

WOW!

WHAT NOW?

BOOK MENTORING

I always have a handful of writers I am mentoring — at one time I made my living doing it — and over the years have written a few tomes and mini-tomes myself. (As well as a dozen plays, a couple of screenplays, two hundred songs, three hundred poems, and a bunch of checks.)

I have also ghostwritten a dozen books for clients, but I’m not really interested in doing that anymore (unless the gig is really interesting) but I love to mentor. I have a tried-and-true process, and by the end of it, you’re a better writer, you know how the whole process works — and gosh-darn it, you have a book!

Maybe your already have a book or manuscript, and it needs tweaking. And/or you need to know how to pitch it, talk to the media about it, create a Book-Shining®, promote it. Count on it, I know this stuff. (And it doesn’t matter whether you’re self-published or in the one-tenth of one percent who finds a publisher, you’re going to be responsible for marketing. Count on that too!)

“Einstein said, ‘If you cannot explain your subject to a six-year-old, you do not understand it yourself.’ My second book is a DIY course for thinking wisely. Try explaining that to a six-year-old.  Jack Barnard understood what I wanted to accomplish and literally would not rest until my understanding of my own work was such that I could, in less than fifty words, explain Wisdom to anyone, even a six-year-old."  Doug McKee

"I contacted Jack after I finished a first draft of a book about the U.S. political system.  Jack has singular insight into what the reader needs.  I contacted him because I knew he would be a straight shooter, and I haven't been disappointed.  I don't always like what he has to say, but the book is better as a result of his input."  Carl Jarvis, author of the forthcoming book 'Shrugging Off Greatness: What Is Happening to America and What You Can Do About it.'

“When I finished the first draft of a non-fiction book about my life — a truly intimidating process — a friend suggested that I hire Jack to bring it to the world. Jack not only edited it, he offered terrific suggestions for making the book even more about the reader, and then coached me in how to present it, both to the public and to the media.

He calmed my fears throughout the whole process.  Most important, with Jack, I never feel alone on the journey.”    Michael-Renee Godfrey; nurse, psychotherapist, sport psychologist, college instructor, Air Force officer,  author of Soul Graffiti

“I knew I wanted to write a book to showcase and inspire women, but the whole process was intimidating. My friend Jane reminded me about Jack, who assisted her in putting her successful book together. A few years back, I had attended Jack’s Speakers’ Boot Camp, which was enlightening, hugely helpful and a hoot to boot! Now Jack is working with me — from step one to publication of my book.  He really knows his stuff, is great to work with and keeps me accountable, which is what I need. Yahoo!”  Susanna Liller; Coach, Speaker, Author
